Where to go for a relax and not too hectic day trip in & surrounded Bangkok? Well, I have this option after I found and proof it haha. Continue from last post about Bangkok this post I will share about Bangkok Walking Tour and daytrip to Maeklong Railway Market & Damnoen Floating Market
Bangkok Walking Tour
Well, I think I’m addicted to join walking tour on a new places as its refreshing, enrich your knowledge about the local history and culture, also flexible to join. So, Bangkok is the 4th city on my walking tour journey after Jakarta, Semarang, and Kathmandu.
How to book? Download GuruWalk app, register, and book the tour. There are many different route and this time I join. the Old District of Capital City route by Guru Swai. If you still confuse, actually its like open trip by walking, you will be given the meeting point and after that you will pay (some is pay as you wish some have the rate). The person who will join mostly is solo traveler, you will be on the group with other new friends.
For this route we walk start from MRT Sam Yot then we visit the flower market, local market, royal theatre, Wat Arun, Wat Pho along the way until Grand Palace.

Maeklong Railway Market
Nah I believe most of people already know this spot which have the market in both side of railway and hype on socmed. So here we are. You can directly go there, can take the train from beginning or like me to join a day trip. Personally I like this daytrip because more comfortable, so you will take the private car onto a station (mid of the train route) and get in and will be around 20-30 mins until you reach the market.
The train will get slower when enter to the market |
You will found the souvenir shop here also |
Market first or railway first? The answer is : market first. So before they already have the market here like fish market with the main transportation is boat but it need more time to transport so government build the railway as transportation to let the fisherman sell the fish to city then after its viral on socmed it become the iconic one.
If you take the train you will pass through fish factory with the smell.
After this we go to the Damnoen Floating Market around 30 mins from this railway market. What to do there? Having local food which they sell on the boat :
1. You can be on the ground and buy from the seller on the boat
2. You can take the boat around and the seller also will come to your boat to sell
Try both its such a very local experience haha but its hot
