A Backpacker Hostel with Privacy at Work Inn 101 | Taipei, Taiwan

Few days ago I got chance to explore the land where I deposit my heart and on the way finding some place to stay, I found now Taiwan have more backpacker hostel with different style and of course I get curious and want to try one of them.

Well, my choice come to Work Inn, they have 2 branch and I choose Work Inn 101 which is closer to 101 building. Done reservation through agoda and I choose the single room. They have dormitory capsule room and single room.

The rate is USD 35.86 for one night without breakfast.

I think I have experience already with capsule dorm in Singapore years ago and want to try a different experience with box room.

I arrived around 11 in the night and take MRT toward Taipei 101 Station, go through exit 2 and go straight until you meet traffic light, turn left and go straight it will be on your left side or just follow google map.

Location is very convenience, 7-11 just besides, night market within 5 minute walk and bus station in front of the lobby. Surprisingly convenience than I think.

So when I arrived they give me warm welcome and quick check-in. Female area is place in 2nd floor while mixed area are in 1st floor. So as I book female single room, it place in 2nd floor and they don't have elevator. I have prepare my self to take my luggage up to 2nd floor, but surprisingly they have lift for luggage, woohooo! It's an amazing things in backpacker hostel so far.

That drinking fountain is so precious but remember you need to bring your own bottle, except towel there is no other complimentary toiletries. Shower gel and shampoo are available in public toilet. 

This is the entrance of 2nd floor for ladies area, you need to tap on the access card to enter the door so make sure don't forget the card everytime you leave your room. 

So even you go to drinking fountain, bring your access card also

Voilaaa, this is the room view once you open the door. Quiet small for room so I called it box hostel. A good choice for you if you want more private space but in budget & simple way. 

What is the different with capsule dorm? 

You can put more luggage in box hostel and also no one will enter or have chance to take your belongings, just lock your room wherever you go and it's safe. But in the same point, box hostel will be more pricy than capsule one. 

Basically under my bed is the neighborhood bed, very limit space ya.

Iya berantakan, tau, tapi cape jadi tinggal tidur aja gpp lah ya :) 

Also there is TV in bed area and reading light but due it's too dark that's unavailable to show you guys the photo. Basically the bed is quiet comfy and enough for 1 person. 

Besides, the next thing you wanna see I believe is the public area. So here is the public toilet and shower area. 

They separate shower area & toilet area. Shower room is quiet small and there is no hanger, only small basket to put on your belongings but the hot water is good enough.

And also there are big mirror with hairdryer in toilet area but there is too many people when I want to take picture. 

And they have public area for chit chat. 

So what I love about this place are : 

• Easy transport and strategic location
• Clean and comfortable 
• That luggage lift is a bomb in hostel 

Also some point that need to consider : 

• Very small shower and no hanger on it
• Limited space for single room
• No toothbrush :( 

Overall it's such a beautiful experience for me, thank you Work Inn 101 ! 

Place to stay in Tainan

Saya dan seorang teman saya berencana untuk melewati tahun baru kali ini di Tainan, jadi kami mulai search tempat penginapan yang sesuai dengan budget kami dan mudah untuk aksesnya. Cari punya cari ternyata kali itu banyak sekali hotel yang sudah full booked, termasuk dorm room juga full booked.

Lalu tiba - tiba teman saya menemukan web Asia Hotel Tainan, teman saya langsung menelepon-nya, lucunya sang receptionist bilang tidak perlu uang DP, booking aja lewat telpon harganya lebih murah jadi langsung saja di ok-kan. 

Me and a friend plan to go to Tainan for this new year. So we search for some budget hotel and dorm room also, but found they already full booked. We got stressed ! Suddenly, my friend found Asia Hotel Tainan's web, she call the hotel for reservation, we got the room cause they don't need any DP. And fyi, book by call was cheaper than book by web.

Lokasinya tidak jauh dari Tainan Railway Station, yang mana pusat terminal bus dan kereta disana jadi tidak sulit dijangkau, dan juga mudah untuk ditemukan, cukup mengikuti peta yang ada di web mereka pasti anda tidak akan nyasar. Dalam perjalanan sekitar 10 menit dari stasiun menuju hotel, anda akan menemui banyak toko - toko mulai dari baju, makanan, minuman, Family mart pun ada, juga ada night market kecil yang menjual aneka jajanan. 

The hotel located not far from Tainan Railway Station, about 10 minutes walking distance. On the way you will found many outlets, convenience store, and also little night market. 

Untuk 2 malam stay kami membayar TWD1800, jadi masing - masing TWD900, cukup murah bukan. Karena ini adalah budget hotel, jadi kami tidak terlalu expect banyak hal, fasilitasnya memang sudah agak tua, tapi untuk sekedar tidur saja cukup kok, ada wifi, dan peralatan mandi, juga air mineral di kamar, dan tanpa breakfast, namun tidak sulit untuk mencari breakfast di pagi hari, ada Laya Burger dekat stasiun. 

For two nights stay we pay TWD1800, so TWD900 /each, such a good deal. And because it's a budget hotel we didn't expect too much, just a safe place to sleep. Basic facility like Wi-fi, mineral water bottle are complete, there is no breakfast in hotel. 

Malam pertama kami mendapat kamar yang tidak ada jendelanya, lalu setelah di request ke receptionist mereka mengganti kamar kami ke kamar yang lebih besar dan ada jendelanya. 

First night we got a no-window room, and for the second night they help me to change to a bigger room with window. Yeay! Maybe you should request for a window room when you book.

2. Dekat dari stasiun dan mudah dicari Walking distance from railway station

3. Setelah check-out anda diperbolehkan menitipkan barang bawaan anda di lobby, jadi saya bisa berkeliling dahulu sebelum menuju ke stasiun tanpa bawaan After check-out you may leave your belongings in the lobby, so you can explore the neighborhood without big luggage before you leave

Minus point : 

Selimut yang kurang nyaman, mungkin bisa bawa selimut sendiri Not a good blanket for me, maybe you should bring your own
